Another 40 seconds of Alien animation testing. Also threw in a shot at music scoring for it, as improvised guitar.

Sorry if anybody expected it to be longer. Something else came up, so I can't really have this as a distraction. I just wanted to get it out before I put any more work into it. I also haven't been putting too much work at one time into this, so the production time stretched out over months.

Pfft. Listen to me. "Production time" What an overreaching hobbyist bastard I am.

EDIT: Added a gif, and smoothed some of the animation a bit.
EDIT: Cropped into a higher-def, 16:9 format.

Really nice movement in here, and I'm really liking the music alongside it. That reaction to the water-dweling beast, it's only a small moment, but wicked animation there!

I like this a lot, an alien comes to Earth expecting to hit water, evolves so it can walk to the water, jumps into the water, realizes it was safer on land. Origin of humans maybe? :)

I'm kinda amazed here how smooth the running is, I animate almost entirely in PS and then xfer the GIFs to Flash, which creates choppier stuff, but I just haven't thought where to begin doing traditional animation in Flash.

Aaah very interesting take on it =}
Frame by frame can be a pain sometimes, but it gets easier and more natural with experience. I started out animating stick figures in flash. That would be a great place to start =) Come to think of it, I recall my very first animations being stick drawings that I did in MSPaint, ported to an obscure .swf program (it wasn't flash). That was like, 10 years ago, though.

So it seems, if you started animating stick figures in flash, you'd be taking a very similar path that I took; replacing Paint and that crappy .swf program with Photoshop and Flash, of course.
